Axiomtek has introduced the GMB150, a Mini-ITX gaming motherboard built around AMD's new Ryzen AI Embedded P100 Series processors. Positioned as one of the first Mini-ITX boards to adopt this platform, the GMB150 integrates CPU, GPU and NPU functions into a single BGA SoC, combining AMD's "Zen 5" CPU architecture, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and the XDNA 2 AI engine to deliver up to 80 TOPS of combined NPU+GPU AI inference performance.

The board is aimed squarely at electronic gaming machine (EGM) OEMs — slot machines and similar cabinet-based gaming systems — who need onboard AI acceleration, gaming-specific I/O, and certifiable security without resorting to a discrete AI accelerator card. By folding AI compute directly into the SoC, Axiomtek says developers can cut hardware costs, reduce board real estate, and shorten time-to-market for AI-enabled cabinets.

Security and Lifecycle

Gaming hardware faces stringent certification requirements, and the GMB150 addresses this with GLI-verified TrustedBoot, a TPM 2.0 module, and hybrid RSA-2048/AES-256 encryption to protect firmware integrity and guard against tampering. Axiomtek is also committing to long-term, lifetime supply of the board, a key consideration for gaming OEMs that must support fielded cabinets for many years without redesign.

Gaming-Specific Expansion

Unlike general-purpose embedded boards, the GMB150 includes two proprietary PCIe Golden Finger connectors for direct integration with Axiomtek's Gaming I/O modules, plus optional 9-bit serial support for the SAS 6.02 protocol used widely in casino slot systems. It also supports up to four independent 4K displays, flexible M.2 expansion (Key M for NVMe storage, Key E for wireless/other modules), and industrial-style I/O covering RS-232, ccTalk and TTL protocols.

Software-wise, the board ships supporting Windows 11 IoT Enterprise and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, with future compatibility planned for AMD's ROCm open software ecosystem to ease AI framework deployment and migration.

Beyond the Casino Floor

While engineered first for EGMs, Axiomtek positions the GMB150's AI, graphics and security stack as equally relevant to industrial automation, machine vision, smart healthcare, smart city infrastructure, and in-vehicle infotainment — markets where compact AI-at-the-edge compute is increasingly a baseline requirement rather than a differentiator.

"The GMB150 combines AI acceleration, gaming-specific expansion, hardware-level security, and long-term availability into a compact Mini-ITX platform, giving developers the flexibility to build next-generation gaming systems faster and with greater confidence." — KJ Chan, Director of the EGM Division, Axiomtek

With AI inference, high-resolution graphics and certifiable security now converged onto a single compact board, the GMB150 signals a shift in how gaming cabinet designers will approach next-generation hardware refreshes, while offering a reusable platform for broader edge AI deployments.
